England National Football Team: The Football Association, Football in England, England v Scotland (1870), 1966 FIFA World Cup Final, History of the England national football team

$76.00
The English national football team represents England in international football and is controlled by The Football Association, the governing body for football in England. Although most national teams worldwide represent an independent state, the four home nations which form the United Kingdom are each represented separately in international tournaments. England is one of only seven countries to ever win the FIFA World Cup, which they did in 1966 when they hosted the finals. They defeated West Germany 4¿2 in extra time in the Final. England share with France the record of having one World Cup victory and this being achieved on home soil (the other winners have all won the trophy at least twice and at least once on foreign soil). Since then they have only reached the semi-finals once, losing to West Germany on penalties. Nevertheless, they remain a prominent team on the global stage, rarely dropping outside of the top ten rankings of both FIFA and Elo. England also reached the semi-finals of the UEFA European Championship in 1968 and 1996 (again played in England). >>Read More

Since the 1990 World Cup there have been 4 World Cup tournaments. Italy have reached the FInal in 2 of those 4 World Cup tournaments. That’s phenomenal. On the other hand what have England achieved in those 4 World Cups since 1990? Nothing. Italy are in a totally different class to England.
yeah….Argentina was lucky. but Italians didnt deserve to win in naples. Italy had not been put to test until the semis, infact they hadnt conceeded a goal till then. Italian got a little overconfident after taking the lead. At 1-1 they just couldnt figure out to get back into the game. England was better than germany on the night, but germany were the best team in the WC. They beat a very strong yugoslovia, czech and the dutch.I still blame shilton for englands loss.I dont watch 3/4 playoffs.
Yes but it was a beautiful match however!
Una Grande Inghilterra.
so italy won?
@loosecanon79 its just a way of consoling whoever lost the semis… like a bronze medal.. better than nothing italy played great football in this tournament and went out in a penalty shootout against argentina ( a way weaker but lucky ass team) same can be said for england who was >>>>germany at the time and yet lost to penalties, this was a way of comforting england and italy by giving them 3rd and 4th place so everybody knows at least how hard they worked. and only JUST lost it.
@hoschiadedodi you need to check your shut up radar.
more like a troll.
you need to check your sarcasm radar.
Sono italiano e mi riferivo a chi ci invidia…..
you are a grade A fool.
stop hating and spread the love!!!!
then next time dont fuck around because a smart predator waits for the perfect moment to strike and a foolish one applies “fair play” you know what fair play gets you? fucked over… if somebody starts a fight with u.. u play fair and say ok no shots to the groin or eye pokes.. and the first thing he’ll do is kick u in the balls.. thats what a smart person does. a stupid person uses his ego. and like the english goalie gets fucked over. england fair play = 1 world cup/ italy smart play = 4 cups.
ur wrong idiot hes a horrible referee and ur a retard from hell… he was more onside than a player taking a free kick from midfield… god damn refs woulda been 3-1 but whatever italy proved again that it reigns supreme in football over england.
Confederations Cup?you gotta be kidding me!FOUR TIMES World Cup winners.the team you support?ahahaha
Englishmen talking about football are a real disgrace:bunch of pathetic losers
ok… bella…
yes but is only the five… shilton no.. so it is offside…
and you are waaaaay blind.
1) look at Walker (number 5) at 2:10.
Part of his body was in line with Baggio.
So no offside
2) there was a clear penalty on Baggio plus red card for Shilton
e perchè mai?
Regolarissimo, semmai c’era da espellere il portiere Shilton
actually englaish football never can u as good as teams like italy or argentina. u rednick bastards u must remember the game of 1986 against argentina dont u?hahaha looosers
Ohh, shut up. It was offside, but before then there was a borderline penalty on Schillaci, and before then a sure, 100%, red card penalty on Baggio by Shilton.
Italian cheatin cunts
He was waaaaaay offside. Good referee.
